Between 1997 and 1999, Møller-Holst was Research Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory, NM, USA, under US Department of Energy’s Hydrogen Program.
Hence, Møller-Holst has 30 years’ experience within hydrogen technologies. Over two decades, Møller-Holst has also contributed to shaping the political agenda in Norway, as advisor to the Ministry of Petroleum & Energy and the Ministry of Transportation (2006-2014), and since 2015 as Chairman for the Norwegian Hydrogen Association.
Moreover, Møller-Holst has contributed actively to the establishment of the European research and demonstration program, entitled Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) and has been Chair for the Transport Pillar of FCH JU since 2008. During 2020 and 2021, Møller-Holst contributes to shape the priorities for the upcoming European Public Private Partnership entitled Clean Hydrogen for Europe, with a working budget of €2 Billion.
On a daily basis, he is in charge of SINTEF’s significant hydrogen project portfolio, counting 29 FCH JU-funded projects since 2010, and a wide range of nationally funded activities. Møller-Holst is, moreover, involved in implementing hydrogen technologies, both for production as well as fuel cells in heavy duty trucks and new designs for utilization of hydrogen and ammonia as fuel for ships.
